A few words about our Winter Tour...

Paris the City of Lights

Dressed for the cold & snow, we made our way to the Paris Flea Market.  We were pleased to see the vendors turned out dispite the inclement weather.  The group that consisted of various dealers from across the country were able to find everything from great smalls includng silver and black forest to "industrial" antiques.  In years past, the flea market has been difficult for dealers to buy and resell but this winter we were happy to find the French dealers had great prices and were willing to negotiate prices.

England

Most of us have heard of the famous antique fairs in England - Swinderby and Newark
The name has changed for Swinderby (now the Lincoln Home & Antiques Show) but nothing else.  We still found dealers from Europe including, France, Italy, Scandinavia, German, Belgium and the Neatherlands just to name a few! And the variety of antiques is outstanding.  Although the USD isn't as strong against the British Pound, we were able to find unique items that can only come from Europe.  To quote one dealer on the tour "it's not hard finding the items to buy - it's deciding which ones to buy"

Horncastle and Hemswell Antique Centre

Taking advantage of our relationships with Antique shops, the group was able to "load up at Hemswell Antique Centre as well as spending a day in the historical town of Horncastle. We descended upon one shop in Horncastle and kept the dealers running.  We found we were quickly going to run out of space in the van and had to call for reinforcements - Steve, our shipping guru!    .

I am pleased to announce that even with the new international shipping regulations - our container was on the water only 4 days after the tour ended and we will all have our treasures the first week of March - I told you we have a shipping guru!
